“The house is wonderfully spacious, clean and fully furnished, with a generous living room and a large terrace. The surroundings are lovely and surrounded by trees that provide plenty of shade. The owner was especially friendly and helpful.”

Welcome to my Chalet Heuvelrug
Chalet Heuvelrug is my rustic holiday home at Holiday Park Bonte Vlucht in Doorn, tucked away among the trees of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. I'm originally from the Netherlands, but I spend my winters in Spain. I love travelling, hiking and spending time with family and friends. Practical questions
What should I do in case of a power outage?
Check the fuse box in the kitchen cabinet above the boiler first. If that doesn't help, the main fuse has been switched off — call reception (stay on the line outside office hours and press option 0). You'll be transferred to Ricardo, the park manager, who can help you further.
The barrier won't open with my access card.
The system logs entries and exits — the card was probably not scanned once, which throws off the sequence. If you drive in and out again quickly, a 15-minute waiting period applies before the card works again. If the problem continues, reception can reset the card (during office hours).
Can I charge my electric car at the chalet?
Charging at your own parking spot isn't allowed. Please use the dedicated charging spots in the general car park near reception.
Can I stay for several months, and register at this address?
A stay of several months is possible. Temporary registration with the municipality at this address is not possible.
Do I need to pay tourist tax?
Yes, unless you're simultaneously registered with the Utrechtse Heuvelrug municipality. For short stays: €3.89 (2026) per person aged 12 and over. For stays of 1 month or longer: €65 per month per chalet.
What's included in the rental price?
For short stays (under 1 month), everything is included: energy, bedding and linen, wifi, TV, etc. Only the final cleaning fee (a one-time €80, 2026) is extra, and tourist tax is paid separately at reception. For longer stays, you pay a deposit upfront; energy and final cleaning are settled against this deposit afterwards.
